Fire!
Today we had breakfast in the lovely town of Thurmont, Maryland before driving through some nice countryside and cute little farms into Pennsylvania.
We then headed to the very odd town of Centralia. You probably haven’t heard of it but we suggest you google it. The short story is that the coal seam underneath the town was accidentally set on fire and will now burn for hundreds of years. Because of this it has become a ghost town where you need to tread carefully and the ground is hot to the touch in places.
As it was raining, we have no photos of our own so below are some good ones we found via google.
Now in another nice town called Danville. Nearby places are: Manchester, Liverpool, Bath and Hanover. Early settlers were really smart when it came to new place names!
Definitely heard of that place, always been intrigued by it. It is the basis of the Silent Hill games/films. ๐
